4" ika fer trout?

So I went out fishin at dvl yesterday mornin n was throwin a 4" watermelon red n black flake ika in n out of the trees. To my surprize I had a 3.5 lb rainbow trout smack the hell outta my bait. I was able to land her n put her on the stringer.I was in shock it was 15 lb test n a 4/0 hook..... n so was the guys fishin fer trout next to me. Im sure they eat crawfish jus threw me fer a loop. Has anybody tried ikas before fer trout?

I've caught holdover trout at DVL that had plastic bass worms in their bellies, so why not, they do eat them.
But personally, if I was targeting trout, I'd be using a Berkeley trout powerworm or something similar.

Yeah I use orange or red power worms on the drop shot but am thinkin of gettin smaller ikas n throwin em fer trout.
