Stumbleduupon this while reading something else on wikipedia:

Trout tickling

Trout tickling is the art of rubbing the underbelly of a trout using fingers. [1] If done properly, the trout will go into a trance-like state after a minute or so, and can then easily be thrown onto the nearest bit of dry

land.

Oh but there's more:

Flounder tramping

Flounder tramping is a traditional method of catching flounder or other flat fish by wading in shallow water and standing on them.

This method of fishing was used in the coastal waters and river estuaries of South West Scotland for centuries. Once trapped the fish were often secured by impaling them on a leister before being bagged. A leister is the local name for a trident or three pronged long handled spear. Although traditional, the use of leisters to aid capture is no longer permitted (presumably for safety reasons).

Trout binning

Trout binning is a method of fishing, possibly fictional, described in the English periodical "The Mirror of Literature, Amusement, and Instruction" (Vol. 12, Issue 328, August 23, 1828). It is described as:

...a peculiar method of taking trout. A man wades any rocky stream with a sledge-hammer, with which he strikes every stone likely to contain fish. The force of the blow stuns the fish, and they roll from under the rock half dead, when the "binner" throws them out with his hand.
