OceanSide Float Tubing

So I just accepted a job offer with Titleist in Oceanside and am going to be moving there some time in the following weeks.

At first it seemed like it would be awesome for float tubing because of that lagoon nearby but then after some searching I kept seeing that you're not able to tube it?

I am also getting conflicted results on if Oceanside harbor is tubeable and even if it was that there is very little fish in there?

So am I going to have to drive all the way to SD/Mission bay to get my float tube on or what!?

Any help or anyone in the area wanting to be my new float tubing buddy in a month or two would be greatly appreciated!

I just saw a report from oceanside harbor the other day on another forum. They caught some HUGE spotties there.

I've seen videos of people fishing from shore but haven't been able to find any float tubing videos. That's why I asked.

They were tubing....Don't know if it's allowed, (so if not feel free to take down) but here's a link to the report.

Wow those are some MONSTER spotties! From the comments they said that float tubing wasn't allowed so now I'm even more confused..

Haha unfortunately I can't really do night time sessions, it's kind of hard when you're on kid duty .

Im moving to carlsbad very soon so I have done the checks on fishing spots for the last two years... the lagoons are tube friendly at least agua hendondio on the east side of the bride only... oceanside is also tube friendly I have tubed and tooned it at least a dozen times.. your just not allowed to go north of the end of the bait barge area due to the proximity to open ocean,,, the fishing there is slow for spotties but the ones you do get are biiiggg.. but its a meca for halibut... its def a live bait fishery if you ask me... good luck
