X2 I think
Saw these at BPS and was impressed with the feel and lightness
Before spending up to $50 one one rod, you have to check these out for $19.99 each.
The action of the rod will help you cast very light baits a good distance (mini jigs or flylined nightcrawler

Where do you plan on fishing for trout?
The Sierras or the urban lakes
If I knew, I might help you pick a model or two out

If you're a powerbait kind of guy, then maybe this one MLS76ULS-2

If you plan to throw a mini jig then this one MLS66ULS-2

Check out turners. They have been having sales for the trout gear for the past couple of months. You can get nice trout rod on sale there with in your price range

If your doing the bait and wait Berkley actually has a rod out at Turners that is made just for power baiting.

If your throwing mini-jigs you might like the Daiwa Spinmatic for around $30-40.

Honestly I would hold off on any rod purchases till after Fred Hall, they usually have some descent trout rods there and I always end up with 1-2 more I don't need.

Just remember its for trout. You don't need no high end rod. Any cheap rod will work for trout fishing. I have several trout rods from $20-$150 or so. The same thing goes for reels too.
Also, don't assume your going to get a better deal at the Fred hall show either. Found your self some rods you like and the prices of them so when go there you will know the prices already and will know if your getting a deal or not
