You're talking about Grissom Island. It's not that bad. Waxon, Ed, and Brian took me here for my FIRST time float tubing. If a total newb can kick around this island and the Marina, then pretty much anyone can. On the way out towards Grissom, you go over the sunken pier J remnants, which supposedly hold a lot of fish, esp nice halibut. A good place to troll, I hear. To get to Grissom, and inside the marina, you have to pass thru this choke point, pretty close to the little rocky cul-de-sac affectionately known as Gangsta Point. Others here have said that the local boys like to throw rocks, so be careful, I guess. Once past this point, you're in the marina.
The area you and I were kicking thru in Huntington Harbor is WAY WAY harder than the kick to Grissom!
