and just to let you guys know the distance we kicked from the HH launch spot to the preserve this sat was a longer kick than going to the island,..

I've been thinking of fishing there for a few months. Guess I'll have to save up my quarters..

That's about 1100yards..

or 11 football fields.. or 38,917 inches.. or about 1,815 legal halibut lined up tail-to-mouth

how is grissom island? I have never fished there befor but that looks like a nice place to fish and plus you have the marina there as well.

uuummm, its ok, i think the parking lot only allows you a max of 4 hours, but theres another lot up the way thats meter as well, just a far walk to the beach with the tube. don't get close to the locals fishing on the point, they will throw rocks at you,.. just bass and some hali's, thats why i like white island, its secluded, not really fished much so its WO on a good sunny day, telling you it just looks far, its not,..

We loaded up over 6 hours on the meters last time.

For the people that have been there, have you ever had any problems or encounters with threshers or anything that likes to play bump in the water?

We got stuck out there for an hour cause of a boat race lol, but had front row seats! Speed boats were smashing with helicopters following them very low filming the race! Pretty cool,.. I think I have a pic of it, I'll look for it when I get home,..

I like watching the Jet-ski races when they all take off from Long Beach to Catalina. Then within the hour you start seeing sea-tow bringing a lot of them back

but to answer your other Q, once i saw a mako or blue shark by me, didn't do anything but swim around and then took off. thats about the only shark encounter i had there,..

I don't care what type it is it is the size that I think will freak me out. Instant heart attack right there in my tube.
But I think I saw one that night we fish at HH it was smaking some boats chasing mackral. Might be my imagination but I am pretty sure I could see the fin wipping around in the water.
