Nice stuff, I have the cumberland also, but have just a simple rod holder. Its all dip coated black now so it looks better.

Nice set up. I see you have a fly rod there. Are you fishing for trout? Were do you fish?

I just noticed that there is a mixture of ABS and PVC
Did you glue those certain joints, are they jammed together with friction or?

Since I made a camera tripod to a mono pod I glued everything to keep the water out. This is to prevent any corrosion on the gear track of the mono pod. Mono pod can extend upward about 18 inches from the end of the pvc with a crank handle. I also sprayed the crank handle gear and gear track with Tri Flow.

I wasn't sure if you could glue ABS to PVC since I haven't attempted this myself.
Did you use PVC or ABS cement?

I do fish for trout, mostly at lake Davis or Frenchman's Lake in Norcal.

Phil,

I was thinking of doing something similar for a camera mount, I have a flip video camera I thought could be mounted to the "monopod". Are you getting any water near the camera when you fish? I would think not as high as it is, but figured I would check.
