Had trouble finding parking so I ended up having to take a spot on Garnet and launching off the North end of the island.
Normally this would not be a problem as the North end of Balboa, the back channel and the main channel can all be really productive.
The problem is so structure, no eel grass and no fish
Turns out the US Army core of engineers is dredging out the harbor and a couple weeks ago they hit this area.
The center of this channel is normally full of moored boats...

In order to secure a boat they have to use these very large concrete blocks on the bottom, these were all removed prior to dredging which then removed the eel grass and several feet of mud.
I worked my way out into the main channel but found that it was just as barren as the back channel so I had to kick accross and fish the boats moored along the penenusla side of the harbor.
I was able to get a few but it was tough fishing as the tide was coming IN but the wind was blowing the oppisite direction so it was tough to get the bait to present correctly, very frustraiting day over all.
Main channel looking towards Harbor Island..

The rest were all spotties and were gotten on the penensula side...
