I had recieved a fish finder and was wondering about how to mount it on the tube, using PVC. I know this is possible but just seemed to simple so in steps Float Tube Fanatics Mount system. The system is now under $100 and I think worth every penny. Here are some of the issues solved with the FTFF Mount System

1. Where does the battery go so it is out of the way?
2. How can I mount the transducer in a secure and but in the right spot?
3. How can the angle of the monitor be in the right place for viewing?
4. Finally how do I manage all the cabling with the typical fish finders-- keeping them out of the way? And you know there are a lot.

This simple to use unit is very convenient and easy to use. My first time out with it proved to me that these guys have this system dialed in perfect. It elevates all your guess work is is building your own unit. And you can be sure that it will fit your needs what ever they might be. I talk to these guys myself they are very passionate about our sport and saw the need to provide us with a quality product to solve the problem of mounting our fish finder to our tube securely and easily. Thanks Float Tube Fanatics for the your Mount System top notch keep up the good work.

Thank you for posting this. I recently bought a Garmin Echo 150 Fish Finder and this will be the perfect mount for it.

Hi Jeff,

Thanks for posting this! Looks like a great product.

If I hadn't already built my own, I would probably be in line to buy one. Though mine has worked just fine for several trips this summer, I still may purchase one of their transducer mounts so I can ditch my PVC frame and transducer arm and get it to a size that I could easily pack for hiking to some more remote lakes.

About how much does your whole set up weigh with the battery?

Do you think you could fit the extra cables inside the battery box if you swapped out the for 8 AA batteries? The only thing I'm not crazy about with their system is all the extra transducer cable hanging out.

Thanks,

RetsofNV

PS. Since I know you build rods, I've been meaning to ask you if you know of a source for good quality graphite multi-piece spinning rod blanks. I've built a couple of travel fly rods years ago, but now I'm interested in building a three or four piece ultra-light spinning rod for back country trout fishing. Ideally, 5'6" - 6' for 2-4lb test that I can fit in a backpack.

I would have to check on the weight of the unit, all together. As for putting the cables in the box you would need to have another hole in the box somewhere, but I guess with a smaller battery it might work.
I get most of my stuff from Mudhole and AcidRods.com I don't have any special hook ups or anything like that. Maybe one day I just don't do enough rod wrapping to have scored these perks as of yet. salute
