Anchors who is using them.

So I have never been a guy that saw the need for an anchor, but now I am starting to think maybe its something I should have with me. Who here is using an anchor and what is you system?
I am looking at a Rock Bag first I am not looking to anchor up and stay still for hours. I am looking to anchor up and slow down my movement to a slow crawl in heavy current.
I am also looking at an actual anchor and like the idea of the break away system what a great thing have when its needed.

I am not but I probably should be lol. Perris has a lot of wind most the time and it can be difficult with jet skiers leaving huge wakes all the time. Maybe I'll get a drift sock instead have you thought about that instead?

Ive looked in to them and some manufacturers have a guage to what size u need for your vessel. I thought the current is what stopped you but I guess its the opposite and it creates drag for you slowing your drift which I think would be more beneficial than dropping an anchor every few yards to fish your honey holes

I have anchored up in still water before. Lake Perris.
My personal experience is when the wind is so much I need to anchor, line management is also a big problem.

I head home instead these days

Jerdon that would be my issue at perris. It gets windy and currents get strong. Problem would be that the anchor and line would pull u in a way, that depending on where its tied off to would probably angle you away or off from where you are aiming to cast. On top of that you'd have to worry about snagging your own anchor line. To me too much a hassle

I run a rack to hold my poles with a little pully on either side. The only problem is the anker getting STUCK. Carry wire ties because when all 5 gates are open there is a 7 MP current. the use Pontoons tubes rafts the use weird stuff The river is a learning curve. you Don't need anything on your tube it what makes you comfortable if you hang out behind the eddies you dont need one you can go around in circles.      When the water is LO the Strippers have been running strong nice sizes.   YOUTUBE The Hunting and Fishing Show if you want to check out the River Thanks. this is how the Boats and everybody else

and Guys and Gals onceyou start on the River you Don't get to go Home its a Long walk. Tubing on the River is not what you Think once you start you can do 6 miles Quick if you want I bring breakfast and lunch it just how long you want to take. My next trip will be from the Riverside to the AVI need some one to pick you up its not for Everybody
