Crossed over to the dark side.....

I'll be honest, I absolutely loved my FC4!!

However, I keep seeing more and more ODC's out there and they are being sold for like 70% on the manufacturers website right now (and amazon.com) so I pulled the trigger.


A tube worth more than my FC4, that cost me less, and it seems to have more storage on it than the FC4......we shall see.


I'll be back on the water soon guys. I'm still alive.

Oh and I'm out of the Marines now and have an awesome beard. I guess my work skills no longer include shooting guns and throwing grenades....although I can still drink beer like a champ

I heard the bladders on the odc are crap but i know they have a great warranty program

That's funny cuz I own a odc and I've been thinking about a fish cat the only thing I don't like about the odc is the air valves its in the pocket and takes up space I'm thinking about doing what wax did on his odc and put in fish cat bladders and relocate the valve get more pocket space and a tougher bladder since the fish cat bladders are cheaper than the odc ones

Hmmm that's interesting. I have heard about the air valves in the pockets which seems like it will be annoying. I'm gonna have to compare both tubes when I get this new one but I like the fact that the ODC has storage "compartments". I'm not willing to cut into this tube to throw in some fish cat bladders but it seems like a decent idea if you have the proper tools and know how to do it.


Not sure if anybody has made a FC4 vs. ODC review yet but if not I'll make a few comparisons to help others out in the future.


If anything, I bought this tube for cheaper than any FC4 I've seen so if the tubes are poorer quality it's not like I paid extra for a "bad" product.

Can't wait for the review ...which model odc did you get the regular one or the lightweight model?

I believe it's the regular one.....the gray colored model.


Do the weights have anything to do with the bladder material? Or is it some other part of the design that makes them "lighter"?

I believe the bladders are the same its the design in material on the bottom of the tube the regular one is more thicker than the lightweight model and instead of a foam seat and back rest they use air bladers just like the fc4 lcs model

Okay cool. This tube seems right for me.

People mentioned that the bladders on the ODC suck but the 420 is rated to hold 300 pounds vs. the FC4 which is rated up to 250 pounds.

I wonder how much bigger is the odc is to the fc4
