Spent the 21st-24 of June in the eastern Sierra and caught a lot of fish.
Friday morning I stopped in Bishop for breakfast at Shatt's and heard/felt a metallic rattling through my steering wheel.
Found this sitting balanced on my steering column... :wtf:

freakin heat shield came off my manifold, lucky it did not take out anything else...
Anyway after breakfast I drove up and tubed Intake 2 and found pretty wide open fishing near the damn, lots of the standard sized DFG stockers but I also got this guy and broke off on one other big'un.

Believe it or not, but this was a DFW fish and not an Alper!

Headed into Mammoth that afternoon and set up at the campsite I had reserved at Twin Lakes...
Got up Saturday morning and tubed upper Twin, kind of a slow bite but the fish were there and saw a couple nice ones get caught.
Took lunch at Grumpy's on Old Mammoth Rd. and headed back up to camp for a crap and a nap
Spent that afternoon fishing Mamie and found another pretty wide open bite near the outlet.
Even got a couple of Brookies...

Sunday everyone else had to head back home so I went down to Starkweather Lake and found the best bite of the trip. No big ones but I was bit on every cast and had the entire place to myself! It was awesome!

Left there and checked out the San Joaquin river for a quick stop...

Then headed up to get dinner at The Stove.
On the way down I did take some pics of the areas that were damaged by the big wind storm last year, pretty crazy!

Monday it was windy and rainy so I decided not to tube on the way home but stuck to creek fishing the Bishop area instead.
Another slow bite in most areas but I did find fish including another big one...

It was SOOO much fun fighting it and the current and having to bring it all the way across the stream to me! It was another DFG broodstock but was very fun none the less.
Only other place I stopped at was the Baker creek area for an hour before dusk, got a few and surprisingly hooked (but lost) another big DFG broodstock.
Anyway stopped for dinner in Lone Pine at the Mt. Whitney restaurant and then drove straight through for home.
