Hi all,

I ordered an inflatable 420 seat/back combo from Creek Company to use on my Cumberland. Will this replace the hard foam cushion or can it be used on top of the original seat? I wouldn't mind having a bit more vertical clearance and not be so far in the water.

Thanks and good fishing to all!

If you want it inside the mesh fabric then you'll have to remove the foam. Otherwise you can place it outside of the seat, just place it down before you sit down

Just to add a bit of something. I saw a few memory foam seats today, which is extremely comfy, to place it onto the foam seat. Leave the foam seat be. The computation for the max weight limit is not only based on the air bladders, but also the foam seat itself, which is a buoyancy displacement of 30lbs. Just add a memory foam seat like this:

or a lawn chair pillow you may have around the house already. More height added..However, a good inflatable cushion is the best ideal choice, since you don't want to be too far out of the water that your knees will play the price of over extending during kicking due to excessive seat height.

I cut about 1.5" off the top of my stock foam seat (left 3" or so to the rear at the stock height) and slipped in the cushion below only partially filled with air, huge improvement in comfort.

Looking good. Anyone has the mod done and has a the picture? Looks like I'm going to get one and document the mod after the proper calculation done. Do the math before doing the cutting.

No pictures on mine sorry, but it looks just like the stock seat when installed.....until you set on it.
