Went out 3/17/2011 evening to do some local bass fishing from my buddies 32' boat. Got the invite and since I can not fish the weekend, I jumped at the invite and move my schedule around. Started the evening with a slow pick at the sand bass. My friend did stick a nice legal halibut which was exciting! As nightfall came around, the fishing still did not really pick up all that great. Really difficult wind direction and strange current making it difficult to keep a 32 footer in place for structure bassin'. Between the 3 of us, we did figure things out and did pretty will considering the conditions and we spend about 3 hours on the water. I did get ROCKED by one FAT bass. Could not even turn his head. I got like 5 cranks on him/her and got rocked. Big bass. Fished 10LB on my new TFO Rod I picked up for the innner harbors all night so could not do much as far as turning power. Those BIG Bass that live in these structure areas, if you fish any less than 12 LB line sometimes there is little you can do. Oh well! Still fun! Moved around and found some nice Calicos to round off the night. Total board about 17 bass. Most are about 14 inches with a few nicer models in the mix. The pics shows one nicer Checker. Like 2.5LBS. CnR'd to catch another day. They are so fun! Only took a few pics as the bass were all about the same size. Have a great weekend you all and since I can't go fishing, or tube riggin' I will check the boards when I can to see what you guys are up to!
