Bluegill that are colors of the rainbow

It's really cool how these Lake Perris Florida Bluegill come in several color phases. I've seen purple, black, gold, silver. greenish and these beautiful blue ones. Makes fishing a lot of fun.  I have never seen this blue phase at any other lake.  Love the orange tipped fins too.

How do they taste?

Perris has the best mix of sunfish species, and marvelous colors, among other species. Imagine when the lake gets another 12 feet of water back. Stripers inbound..

Sunfish filets are freaking awesome, especially for fish tacos. Catching is just half the fun. Turning them into delicious meals are a treat. You can compare the bluegill meat to that of tilapia, minus the issues with the bad omega 6 (in high level).
