I went to Perris today and launched from lot 11 at 7AM. Santa Ana's  were already blowing a bit so I decided to head to the east end and let the wind blow me back. I trolled over with some white crappie jigs out hoping to land some pan fish, but nada. I switched to a wacky rigged Senko and 10 minutes later my first bass on the new tube. :)She was chubby and short so I let her go at tube. Got one more and then the next one wrapped up in the trees and broke off. I changed to a brown tube bait and after a couple of missed strikes and hangups I changed back to the Senko. All quiet for too long so I took a breakfast break re rigged and started on the bush line again, caught a nice little male on a wavy tail leech right against the brushline so I stayed in 3 to 15 feet all the way back. The wind was really blowing after 10 am and no one was out there with me.
Good day for me 3 bass in 6 hours!

Jerdon-  Nice going on a windy day!  Hey, not to bring you down with 3 bass in 6 hours, but a couple of years ago down at Lake Barrett, three of us in the rental boat caught fifty three (53) 2 to 4 pound bass in one hour!  Early in the morning the bass had cornered a bunch of shad at the edge of the dam and hit our shad colored Senkos on every cast!  The best bass fishing I've ever had.  It was incredible!

That is crazy I did something like that once will Crappie fishing. There was aschool that was hugging the shore line and I picked them off one by one for about 3 hours ended up with some were over 80 Crappie. All catch and release. Lake Gregory in the 80's

Komori and jeffcpr,
I think we all live for days like that, when the fish are just committing suicide!
My first two outings with my new tube were skunks  so I was real pleased with three to the boat.

Of course I would like to hear who beats those two stories.

Jerdon- If you'll wait until the water warms a bit, I'll meet you there at Perris.  I go out in my float tube once or twice a week, primarily for Bluegill and Redear Sunfish with ultralight rods and 2 lb test line, but I hook into bass and crappie quite a bit too.  It is just so enjoyable to get in that water once it warms up, wearing shorts and a t-shirt and catch those hard fighting panfish on various lures.

Komori,
Sounds great, let me know when you're going.
I enjoy the summer there as well. no wetsuit or cold mornings, just fighting off the sun.
