Ty for the advice, that's good to know. After a few outings I'm going to attempt to build my own PVC unit lol. We will see how that goes lol.

Hey LOLLY, was wondering about your comment on not traveling with the tube fully inflated. Are you talking about long vacation trips or just a quick car ride. If I inflated my tube before I left home and drove an hour to a lake, is that going to cause problems?

Will the tube be inside vehicle? If you have it in back of pick-up where it can catch full sun/heat the tube can expand enough till it would burst!! Of course if it is early morning/evening when the sun and heat is low then no problems. When I was 5 or 6 years old, my dad and I where returning home from a lake with a inflatable raft strapped to the top of the station wagon. I believe this was in New Mexico and it was a pretty hot day and as we where rolling down the highway and I had the serious nods (dad keep asking me if I wanted to lay down in the back but I said I'm cool) the Raft on top of the wagon went BOOOOOOM  !!! My dad was fish tailin a bit till he got the wagon under control and when we got out and looked there was very little left of the raft. Good luck on the cool ride.

1. Never transport any tube inflated more than 3/4 inflated. Me, I ensure my tube is either deflated during a quick transport, or 1/3 inflated, knowing that I may be doing a bit of a quick errands as my tube gets baked in the back of the minivan/SUV. Hot days, the stitching points requires a bit of an inflated buffer to prevent stitching site deformity. Of course, fully deflated also cause plastic bladder's layers to stick to one another if there was existing water vapor within the bladder. Quick fill of air can cause that sudden tear. This is a rare occasion, but did happen. You never know what a temp spike at 120°F can do to malleable plastics.

As what was said before the heat can make it pop but also elevation changes. Air expands as it gets thinner. I've also heard of the nylon tearing before the bladder pops. Either way it'll ruin a fishing day.

I had the nylon tear on my old tube, as the sun came up I'm sure the heat expanded the plastic too far. That said, the old tube was 25 years old and the seams just gave up. I have the same Cumberland pictured here, and I when it travels it is a little more than half full. When I arrive I just put in thee or four breaths each side,what ever my  lungs will allow. I don't use a pump and it is no problem.
