SOLO NEWPORT HARBOR SESS 4/9/2014

Hey Everyone,

Hope all is well, hit Newport yesterday after work for a quick seession....quick report

AO: Newport Harbor Balboa Club
Launch Time: 530
Time off: 815
Equipment fish caught on: Shimano Sonora 2500 10lb test on Daiwa 6-6 rod
Bait: Gulp sandworm

NOt much to report, worked the whole coast guard station front piece for nada, kept paddling out to the balboa club and worked that area too for some bites but no stickers, then moved into this glassy area pictured below and landed this! right before this i was hooked into another one but it came off as it was surfacing   so ended up with the one....    could have been 2 lol stupid hook! lol

Great job tony! I'm stoked you got out. I dig the pics, the spottie is a good looking fish. Bummed you can't fish this weekend, maybe the following week.

Thanks bro and yeah it was nice to get out, i was gonna go out on tuesday but had to do my stupid taxes LOL....

yea will try to set something up for next week...maybe HH, im doing that kayak rental thing with the wife so ill scope out some spots in the yak....

Awesome brother. Yeah I used to live in HH when I was 15-16 and fished in there. Mainly near the baby beach. Used to catch a lot of yellowfin croakers, halibut, short white sea bass and sand sharks. Tons of fun. Every once in a while, I would catch a spottie. Have fun with the wifey

Great report and like most are saying, great pictures. Beautiful bay pictures, makes me wish I was there. Nice coordination on the color and way detailed. Don't you think for a second that I missed the matching carabiner. I'm on to u. Haha.

Hey IEbadboy...welcome and it was about 63...but seemed colder cuz of the wind...i had double socks, snowboard pants...sweatpants and waders and was perfect...  ...ill b hitting on thursday with inspektedeks...

Thanks for the inside and I'll be fishing past the little bridge were the boat slips and docks are curious how it is Thursday when you guys go out haven't fish there in about a couple years. We're do you guys fish when you go out?
