Lake Perris 4/28
Time 10:00 AM till 2:30 pm
Air temp: 75 to 88
Water temp: Warm felt like 70 or so
Visibility: About four feet, quite a bit clearer than last week
White and Chartuse Spinnerbait
Fluke... Shad color
Wacky Rigged Senko ... Green Pumpkin
Drop Shot .... green skinny worm
I took a little trip today nice and sunny. I was on a bass only mission today and launched from lot 11. Note: the water is below the ramp by close to 3 feet! I decided to head to the island since the east end was so low and I was feeling strong. I was trolling my drop shot and spinnerbait and got a hit on the spinnerbait about 200 yards out. Nice male bass put up the best fight I have had this year. I was thinking he might be bigger, but only about 14 inches or so. There was a lot of boat traffic and tubers for a Monday and once I got to the island I needed to work to find a spot that wouldn't seem crowded. I decided to work in-between the island and the south side cause of the crowd on the north side. I got nothing in there, but decided I would test my endurance and troll all the way around the island. I missed a few strikes on spinnerbait so I added a trailer hook and kicked all the way around. There was a bunch of empty beds for gills or crappie on the northside and I did see some guys catching pan fish there.
Only one fish today, but a nice outing and I have a better idea of how far I can travel in the Cumberland. Board shorts and a rashguard it was very comfy out today.
