Hi All,

I'm looking for ideas on how best to mount my GoPro to my tube. I've used the GoPro Jaws Clamp and it works ok. I like the flexible gooseneck, but the clamp itself is just ok.

If any of you have some pictures of how you mount your GoPro's, it would be helpful.

What type of clamp does the goose neck one have and do you have a rod rack?

This is the GoPro clamp with gooseneck

You can then attach multiple goosenecks and then the camera--at least in theory.  In the real world you can attach a second gooseneck and it will be functional.  Anything beyond that and functionality is questionable.

Here's my tube setup

The frame is 1/2" pvc.  The problem with the clamp is that eventually it starts to slip--it just doesn't get a good enough "bite" on the pvc.

I believe this might be what you are looking for. He also describes how he made it.

What about building up the PVC on the area that you are currently attaching the clamp. Maybe make the pipe fatter with grip tape or something along those lines?

Thanks Lolly. The link to that thread was very useful.

I did think about building up the pvc, but I thought I'd check on the board to see what others are doing.

Thanks again for that link.

I don't really have a "Float Tube" but maybe one on Steroids. I glued a Scotty Mount to the back of my boat and I use it for rod holder/camera holder, and the extended Scotty arm.

Is that the Scotty Triple Rod Holder?  I just ordered two to see how they'll work on my tube. I also ordered the Scotty camera mount, but I didn't see the extended arm--but that's close to what I want.

The good thing is that this board has provided a wealth of info for someone new to this (like me).

I'll have to post a video I saw on YouTube using an extendable monopod, a ram mount, and two Scotty gearheads

Yes it is. They are heavy. I also attached a leash to the tree in case it does fall off.

I also have the Scotty Camera mount. Great because it works with GoPro or regular cameras

I saw this video on YouTube using an extendable monopod and Scotty gearheads.  It's for a kayak, but it looks easily convertible to a float tube.

Problem with a Monopod is that it will rust and quickly , especially in the salt  .  there are 2 new mounts coming out for the new hero 4 release , the sportsman mount and the new gooseneck both are fully waterproof and safe for ocean use.

the goose neck maybe more ideal as it would attach to the pvc very easily and stay secure and allows for movement of the camera .
