Sorry for the late report...I saw Jerdon's post and wanted to share other species caught last month. I think this is my first report on this forum. Any other fly fishers out there? DT2
Report:
Due to the late stocking in the morning the staff was keeping fisherman off the half of the lake from the docks to the dam. That made the bubbler area in front of the store pretty crowded. DT1 and I made the best of it and had a decent but not off the hook day. DT1 had one of his best days at LNL with numerous crappie and bows fishing a Yozuri hardbait and towing a streamer fly. Even though the water was murky with about a two foot visibility, the water temp, 59-60 deg F, was cooler than last year.
Caught a variety, crappie, tail walker trout, and large mouth bass. The trout were very acrobatic and ranged from about 17” to a little over 19”. Even though the bass was pushing 19”, it has nothing on any of the salt water varieties in terms of punching power.
All fish caught on Rio DC26 Striper line 200gr. I switched over to try an intermediate line when I thought that the fish were on top, but didn't get any hits with that.
