I helped my father-in law find a new innertube for his old style round browning float tube recently, wanted to let everyone know (anybody still in one) I found the 7.50-20 size innertube replacement for $22 dollars near my house. takes only a day to get here and every other seller/shop wanted $30-50 shipped. It was kind of difficult to find at first until I looked close to home.Rolling Eyes From what i'm told this the usual size because when I asked if he could get one the shop owner knew exactly what it was being used for before I even told 'em. Anybody need one just message me for the info and if ya live a little ways away I'll ship it to ya' on your dime.

Thanks for the heads up FF.
IMHO the rubber tube works better than the plastic bladders.
The rubber does expand and contract nearly as much in the heat or cold.

I would love to see a pic of your father-in laws Float Tube. It's cool that someone is still using an old school tube.

It brings back memories of the first time I ever saw a Float Tube. It had a wooden seat and was constructed of welded rebar.

we are going to the sierras mid july, I'll be sure to snap a picture. He says he's only used it twice, practically brand new. just can't get him to fish for bass even from my boat. he will only fish for trout in eastern sierras for some reason. I am certainly trying to change that.

I wonder if your FIL would be more comfortable in a newer style "U" or "V" float tube where he would be sitting off the water?

Razz I have shown him my Cumberland with the rod rack, etc. told him they move 3 times as fast with less effort AND that I can get one for around $175 bucks! Dude makes plenty of money but still can't convince him. Yet. after this trip to june lake loop I think he will change his mind, but for now he want to replace dry rotted innertube in round style. I think it's because my mudder-in-law bought it for him years ago and it only was used twice. he hasn't been up in 15-20 years since my wife was in high school.

I used the one in my Avatar till the seams split.
I'm pretty sure it's because the plastic bladder I replaced the rubber with expanded in the sun.
If it works don't fix it!

My first float tube was a dark green canvas model with an automobile inner tube inside and it had a suspended seat that killed your nuts! Still, it was a new experience to be out there floating in the middle of Calavaras Lake in Oceanside, with my flyrod and popper while the fish were feeding all around me! This was many years ago.. around 1970 or so.
