I thought I was snagged on the bottom for a while, then finally broke loose. The rest was a 2 man operation to get off. It ended up sucking itself to the bottom of my brothers tube as he was trying to unhook it off my bait. We kicked over to the dock and he got out of his tube and pulled the tube out of water and octopus let go. We had to cut part of the tentical off to get bait back.

Heck yeah, looked to be a good time!

Octopus bycatch is always interesting. I call em out every once in awhile too lol. I learned from a deckhand friend that you can just give a sharp tug on your lure and it will usually break free from the flesh. (If you're trying to avoid cutting anything off). Nice job at the lab! I bank fish there some nights, and my PB has come from there as well. Good luck and holler if you see me on the water!
