Hello Fellow Fisherman

I am new to the group and just wanted to introduce myself.
I am vice admiral Johnsgonefishing and have just retired after 30 years in the Navy. I look forward to many, many days of doing nothing but fishing my but off. I have been a very avid fly fisherman for over 45 years among other things. I have a very extensive collection of vintage fishing equipment and hope in the future if I need help or if I could help anyone else feel free to ask. I have been folling this site and it seems to have a lot of very fine fisherman and story tellers that I will enjoy. So back to your rods and lets get fishing. JD Heller

Hello and thank you for the warm welcome. I was a Navy Seal for 40 of the 45 years serving the Navy and was wounded 7 times so if there is anything you would like to know , I would be happy to tell.
These days for the last 15 years I have been fly fishing the Provo river in Utah and living in Park City. It is a great river to fish. You can fish and walk it all day and never run into another person, maybe a bear, or a family of minks or otters, or moose but you pretty much have the river to yourself, just as I like it with ALOT of 2-8 pound trout. Anyway thanks again. John

There are lots of good people on here. Most of the events happen in southern Cali. But the site is growing all the time. I predict that the out of state members will soon rule the world...ahem...site.

I'm retired Navy as well. I appreciate your service. But it's time for no watches and no weekend duty! Just fishing...lots of it!
