Fishing Sante Fe Dam

As a kid i grew up shore fishing all lakes and rivers in the greater Los Angeles areas including SB,IE,SD counties. This past weekend my son and i dropped the tubes in a bonelli/puddingstone Lake. Small bass over towards sail boat cove along the shores towards the north east corner of the lake small coves 2-8ft of water great LMB/SMB avid fishermens delight! Waters visability is no more then 1 foot.. trout fishing deeper water around the dam (raging waters) and cat fish east and southeast part of the lake. Now i spilled the beans about the lake dose anyone have any suggestions or tips on santa fe dam ill be hitting it once this rain clears.. Thanks Yall

Ihave been looking for a site like this for a while now. Reviewing all the forms with tips tricks and what you have it has left me with the urdge to go to the dang lake tonight. thanks all and if you ever need a fishing buddy I'm always willing to meet up and fish all lakes! Welcome Urbanfisher....if you go to the search and type in Santa Fe Dam youll see lots of posting..ive been there once with 5 others guys from here it was the Freshwater vs Salt...good times for sure...peeps had lots of luck by the island on the back side throwing the rattle traps...ive never caught anything on a trap and that day, i was asked if i had any rattle traps and said yeah and they told me dude what are you waiting for throw that and 5-6 cast laters BAM i was on....good stuff, wish i had more info..hopefully someone of the other peeps that went can shime in....

Urbanfisher23, welcome. Ya Rattletraps work for me. U can cover the whole lake, behind the island is a good start. Theirs a $7 tube fee, entry fee winter is free. Once the water warms, the weeds r everywhere. Makes for difficult day........GT

Rattetraps it is!! Thanks GT and others once this post. Once this dam weather eases up ill be on that lake at the crack of dawn.. I needed one of those last weekend at pudd my son and i launched from the rv campsite you can acesss of the 10 and fairplex all the way down at the bottom little cove locals know it as "Licon Cove" small pond probably 2-10ft deep and we paddled out hunting the lake for some cats.. it was decent say the least BUT!!!! About 3:45 Sun was setting over the 57 freeway and loosing daylight we paddled back to the cove and i could see fish jumping around fallen trees and large grass on the inlet/outlet near that little cove right as I'm in the process of switching over to bass tackle my son complelty wadded 3 poled at once with "HIS NEW CASTING METHOD" LOL Cant cry over spilt milk just gonna hit the lake my next day off when the kid is at school .. hahah
