Huntington Harbor 8/7 great time on the water

OK so I think we ended up with about 10 on the water, the fishing was slow but most did pick up some fish on the day. I will start out by saying it was great to meet some new members face to face, and of course fish with a few regulars as well. There was Lifefoot that made a trip from the Conjoin Pass area (DAMMM), and Urban Cowboy coming from Corona and the 91 fwy disaster. We have GT in attendance for is maiden voyage in the salt, and SP Dan trying out some new waters. nanbough putting in some work and David886720 out for a quick session with the FTFFCREW. We also had rider514_iaf launch from mud beach and finding us in th main hardor. I think I hit everyone though I know there was at least one or 2 ore tubers out there that I could tell.

The morning was peaceful and calm and the water temp was in the 70's with a low tide start. I myself started get bumped early and landed a grump for my first catch. (SP Dan has that picture). I had 2 more after that and only one of which was worth a picture. I know that they other guys had some catches and I will leave it to them to tell there stories. I did my best to meet up with everyone on the water and try to spend some time with all. It was a good day a lot of short bits, but fish were caught. What a great group of men on the water this last Sunday. It was brought up and I agree we need to do some really FTFF gathering again. So lets do it guys lets plan a gathering soon.

I had a wonderful time meeting you and all of the attendees and I really enjoyed the opportunity to fish with most of you. Time ran out.

I landed two (NS) New Species on the float tube this day; (1) juvenile WSB and (1) Turbot.

Lightfoot .... the chips and home made salsa were Mmmmmm perfect!!!

Yes this was SP Dans first catch a Turbot and that little guy was not letting go, funny he hung there for quite a while before he finally let go.

I'm in for the next float gathering as long as ya'll give us a few days notice in advance. I know we all have busy lives but, maybe make a monthly Float Gathering on set monthly dates? I know many of us may and can plan further ahead for a gathering!

Definitely fun meeting everyone and wetting a line. SP Dan, Congrats on two new species. That turbot picture is hilarious. He's hanging on for dear life to that tail, Lol. Congrats to our other FTFF member's first voyage in the salt and their catches as well. Good Times! and Thanks for the gift to everyone Jeff. I'd love to get together again but vote for Saturday's as I usually get more time to fish than Sunday's but cool with whatever works for the majority.

Jeff had a lot of fun thanks for the gifts. it was great meeting all the Forum you gentlemen were all great I hooked up with the smallest fish I ever caught I couldn't get my finger in his mouth and thanks to my orange and black hammer it did all the work except for the one on my drop shot didn't have my drag set took off down to the rocks it took my whole rig. Take a picture of the small one I had to zoom in it made it look bigger trust me my hand was bigger than the fish here's a few pictures Jeff Urban Cowboy my little fish I'll bring the chips and salsa anytime and every time thanks for the trip guys it was fun. Nice pictures Litefoot! Can't tell you how many of them little sand bass I've caught that are tiny. They're voracious little buggers and attack lures pretty much as big as themselves Lol

Thanks Litefoot for the pictures, I agree the little bass sometime hit harder then the bigger guys. LOL

Dan, those turbots fight hard! I caught one about 19 inches at NPH and man did it have some power....good stuff and way to go on the WSB....

Good times as always . I got the chance to meet Some awesome new guy that love tubing. I ran into urbancowboy in the parking lot .and ended my day talking to sp dan on the beach .and chatted with jeff for a bit on the water. I didn't do to good just a lot of short bites but my buddy did land a nice sand bass flipping docks. hope to see you guys  out there again soon
