So the wife was away this weekend so as you do you take advantage and get some fresh air, a short session Friday morning after my nightshift on the pike saw me lose one miss one and then land this one when it sipped in a 10" streamer

Saturday I had to do a few jobs and drop my daughter off to the wife before heading to the canal in search of perch firstly and then pike at dusk into darkness. The perch fishing went well with 42 in just over 2 hours with most casts landing or missing fish

Unfortunately the pike never materialised and after several hours fishing in a biting wind I was ready to get in the car with the heaters on full blast.
Today (Monday) I had planned on pike from the tube but a good mate I don't get to fish with enough is between jobs so he came over and we fished my local river together targeting the grayling

A fair few out of season brown trout fell to the nymphs as well with a total fish count of around 40 fish to my rod.
Out with the pike fly fishing association lads this coming Sunday so that should be a good day
