Ok, tubes, check, rod holders, check, waders, check, knives, leashes, pliers, check check check. Still short one set of fins but that's a quick fix. Now it's down to where to fish this weekend. We can go either day, there are three spots I like, either Newport (launching out of CG beach, meaning you have to get there at the crack of dawn to get a parking space, but you have to time the tide right so you're not fighting it the whole time), Belmont/Cherry Beach (decent, longer drive, current and parking not an issue, but last I fished there it was pretty weak compared to when I first fished it. So it's an unknown. Last of all Perris. Just down the street from me, but the water levels are still so low that roughly 99% of the fish I've ever caught out of there were caught in spots that are dry right now. Plus this time of year can be a big gamble. I'm willing though, at least we'll have the chance to shake down all the new gear. Anyone in?

As far as Perris goes. Launch from the old jet ski ramp in lot 11. Fish the brush and floating reeds heading east carefully. There are bass in there, but they are educated as Perris gets plenty of presure.

I hope this helps

How about Huntington Harbor?  Perris skunked me hard!  (but I'm zero LMB fishing experience)

There's a major solunar period around sunrise, so I'm planning to launch out of Seabridge Park (Google Maps) right around sunrise. Low Tide (Los Patos Tide Station) is at 11:40, so I'm planning about a six hour session to ride the tides both ways. It might be a little windy by the end of the session, but the wind will be pushing generally in the direction of the return to launch, so that shouldn't be an issue.

If you want to sleep in a little, it wouldn't necessarily be a bad thing. Come when you can, and when you get on the water, hang a right and head for the bridge that goes over the coast highway. I'll be the old fat guy in a Super Fat Cat Smile

Parking is free, opens at 5:00 am and I doubt the lot will fill up at any time.
