New York in Feb 2017

Well, I only had two ice fishing trips this Winter. On one trip I used my fish finder with a new ice transducer and it was great being able to see the jig and the fish approaching.

Today I went to the same pond and fished from shore with light tackle (2 lb. test with float and tiny jig) and caught several dozen sunfish and two surprise bass before the rain and wind drove me away. Here is a pic of the nicer bass.

Good job on getting out there. That would just be too cold for me buddy.
That is a healthy looking bass. Do you sit on your floattube to keep your butt warm??

Fortunately yesterday was about 60 degrees before the front moved in with the wind and rain. Nevertheless, I was fishing from shore but if I had gotten on the water I would have surely used my toon, not the tube!
