First tube session of the year

Haven't posted in a while as my winter fishing has been targeting pike on the rivers which don't lend themselves too well to tubes, I've earmarked a couple of worth spots to try later this year though.
Tomorrow is the last day of the river season for coarse species over here, close season until 16th June, today I thought I'd put my tube on the river, I was dubious at first as it's the biggest weirpool on the river system but I intended on fishing the slower side of the pool, turns our I had nothing to worry about with a bit of common sense and not pushing my look I got relatively close to the main crease up against the weir. Landed 4 pike including one into double figures and lost a few more

Called off at a different river on my way home and finished the season off with a nice double from the bank

No its set to feet. I did find 23' at one point with a black cloud of baitfish sat just below mid depth

I've never caught a Pike, it looks like a strong aggressive predator fish!

There great sport on a fly rod, built for short bursts of speed as apposed to stamina.

If you have never seen it search on YouTube for Barry Reynolds in search of the waterwolf, grab a beer and relax for an hour although you'll be itching to go out fishing topwaters afterwards even if you don't fly fish
