I am considering taking my float tube to Newport Harbor for some saltwater fishing. In order to fish in the harbor am I required to have a saltwater fishing license.

Yes you are have you tubed the harbor before. Only reason i ask is if you have not you should go with some one that has done this before. It is a safe sport but the saltwater currents add some challenge to an outting. If you are going for the first time it is strongly recommended you go with someone else, either way be safe have fun and let us know how it goes.

Thanks or the information, I live far enough away that going there would only be there or four time a year, with the added cost of a salt water license I may have to pass. On top of that the traffic on the 91 freeway often gets more like a parking lot, just not my cup of tea.

Welcome to the forum Jlee.

I live close to Lake Perris so I don't bother to fight the 91 either. If you want to hit Perris sometime hit me up and I will try and make it.
