I'm just curious .... I'm going to completely load up my FT with all my gear: ABS rod rack, iPhone,
Fish finder, lap tray, including all electronics w/ cables and wiring, batteries, fins and PFD ... everything.
With one exception: No rod and reels.
Then I'm going to step on a scale with all of it.
Next ... I'm going to completely remove all my gear and then I'm going to step on the scale again with my empty FT again.
Then I will subtract my body weight from both weight readings for the final FT weight results.

I'm just curious if others are also completely maxing out the poundage of gear on their FT's like myself.

Any takers? This information could be helpful to others as well. We already know the weight of our empty FT's.

Just add your name and your results:

1. SP Dan        FT weight= 12.5 lbs empty,  and 100% Fully loaded w/ all gear= 36-lbs. Total= 47.5 lbs.
2.

mine would be some stupid ridiculous weight.. being the tank that it is it weighs a fair bit add on my sounder/12v battery/rod holder/tacklebox/fins/oars it would end up being pretty darn heavy.. i carry enough baits/terminal tackle to stock a store.. lol will be interesting to see how much it really does weigh though, will check it out on sunday..

Everyone must be embarrassed over the amount of additional weight they carry on their float tubes ... oh well.
I've gone ahead and lightened my load; of a few pounds, since I had posted this up.
It helped me ... to stop being ridicules.

SP Dan <"))><

Tight line everyone!

You know the joke about the scale Dan.
Don't step on thing, mommy always cries when she step on that thing.

It seems I carry around 37 pounds including the tube with my 5 gallon bucket and fishfinder. I have the Cumberland like you so I guess it weighs 12.5 pounds as well.

24.5 pounds of fishing tools. I suppose I could lighten up, but what if I NEED something?

Great story about the scale Jerdon! lol!

I re-supply my lost gear after each session, rather than to carry my complete tackle store with me on the FT.

I have a bag of (25) 3/4oz drop-shot weights (that's 2.34 lbs of lead) that I leave in the car, I now take only 4 additional weights w/ me on the tube now. Just trimming back where I can.

I will try and get mine posted later. I will give final weight as I just got everything set up the way I want it but I know the weight of my tube alone.

OK so my Cumberland is just over 12 lbs and with all my gear not in cluding my 3 rods I take I max out at 49 lbs. That also does not include my Fishfindermount which would add another 5+ pounds. But I don't normally take this with me so I have a 49 lbs FT in the water including my extra body weight and we wont go there Evil or Very Mad

Tube, tackle, castmate, electronics come in at 35 lbs (without rods). I would have to add another 5 lbs as I always have a 5 gal bucket for dry stowage in the front of my tube with a couple bottles of water, my shoes, and lunch, that puts me right around 40 lbs.

OK so this has been bugging me........how much do I push around..........way to go Dan

So here is the breakdown: Super Fat Cat, I'm guessing 15 lbs.

2 Castmate, left and right

3 rod holders, 1 camera mast

5 assorted boxes of worms, plastics, and hardware

1 Astak Action Pro3 camera

1 fish net, 1 pliers, 1 fish grip

1 Elite 4X FF, 1 Weker WKA12-7F battery (4.4lbs)

5 landlords, 1-5 gal plastic bucket

Total weight: 39 lbs........tank..........GT

It seems like we are asking a lot from these tubes.

We are pushing our tubes but the can handle a lot. It is pretty interesting to see what all our gear does way in the long run.

It's like Weight-Watchers!
