Another promotional video for the sport I love!

I launched at about noon from Davenport and caught three fish within sight of the beach!

On this particular day, every fish came from open water or near it. I didn't get any action at all deep into the structure and I think all but one came while trolling.

I'm using my standard setup - HUB on 10lb fluorocarbon leader tied to 20 lb braid. I use the RP knot for the braid to fluorocarbon connection and tie my baits on with the San Diego knot. I used to have some trouble with knots, but this combination serves me well.

Not a particularly exciting day, all dinks, but still tons of fun!

Happy Fishing!

A great video with underwater action shots!
By HUB do you mean Hook Up Baits?

Thanks for sharing.

Thanks, guys! Yes, HUB = HookUp Baits.

I play around with sizes and colors and every now and then I'll toss a Keitech swimbait on an underspin, but I've been doing so well on the Hookups that I hate to fix what isn't broken.

As for colors, it's hard for me to be rigorous enough to be scientific about it, but my impressions so far are that the conventional wisdom of dark colors in low light and bright colors in bright light is a good starting point.

I change the battery in my camera every 90 minutes, so it's a break from fishing, and I will also use that time to change my bait to a different color if I'm not getting bites. If I am getting bites, I stay with what is working.

As for sizes, again, it's hard to be accurate, but I seem to catch all sizes of fish on all sizes of baits, so I generally go with whatever the conditions dictate. I tend to throw smaller baits when working docks and larger baits when working open water or trolling. The size of the bait fish I see in the water will also influence what size I decide to work with. That being said, the 1/4 oz "medium" is the size I use most often.

Sorry for running off at the keyboard, but I know a lot of newbies read these posts and it's nice to hear some actual details... and you asked a question I couldn't resist Smile
