Slim found these on facebook what do you think could this be the next big thing. I think I would like to try one they look very stable and unique, to say the least. What are your thoughts on these boats?

It looks like you build it yourself from a kit or patterns. All wood construction so a truck bed or trailer to transport it. It does look super stable and like Dan said, plenty of storage. It looks fun to try out but I do not think it will travel conveniently.

I think that this ride would be great for the open waters of a lake or a local pond, for fishing from and or for just having a nice pleasurable day on the lazy calm water.

But ... as a inner harbor fishing vessel, I feel that this ride wouldn't offer the move-ability that my FT offers and that I would find myself fin kicking much much more in order to make the sharp turns necessary to position myself for my style of dock shooting. This is where even the FT application is even better than fishing from a kayak. I know this because I've fished the inner harbors in a fully loaded 2014 Hobie Outback w/ the Mirage drive that I owned.

Then ... there are those times that I would have to power-kick and or to maneuver myself quickly in order to get out of the way of a on-coming vessel.
And then ... there's the wind gusts, wind-drift, ocean swells and the roller-coaster boat & tanker-wakes to consider! Oh brotha!!  Suspect

Also in my application of inner harbor FT fishing ... there are those times that I make that ... "Oh No! ... boo-boo" cast and my bait's hook ends-up snagged on a dock, a mooring rope or wrapped around the safety rail of a yacht or actually hooked onto a boat.
I always try to make-it-a-point to retrieve all of my hooks and I always try not to leave any of them behind, possibly causing someone or their luved family pets to get hurt.

So, at times this hook retrieval requires me to squeeze my FT into some very narrow spaces when fishing the docks, and I don't believe that I'd be able to get this wider style of vessel into those smaller narrower areas that I find myself going into.

Bottom line ... this double-canoe looking ride has it's positive applications I'm certain but it would not be a very good vessel for my style of harbor fishing.

Just 2-cents,

Thank you for finding this ride and for sharing it with all of us!  Thumbs Up
