I know we have talked about this before but wanted to bring it back up again. How here is using stinger hooks or Trap Rig setup your swimbaits.

Attached is the link to the Big Hammer site that explains step by step how to do this. It is a little bit of extra work but I think on a day of short bites it might be worth it. What do you think?

That is a pretty sweet set up. I have never tried stinger hooks on swimbaits since i fish small baits 3-4 inches. I can see using the stinger set up on swimbaits when you are using heads with a short shank hook or when fishing certain species like Halibut.

I tried that stinger hook about 8 years ago. It helped with the short bites but caused too much damage to the fish that ate the bait aggressively. Even with the barb on the stinger crimped, it wasn’t worth the damage it did. I would rather miss some bites rather than gill hook or throat hook some bass.
