4/8/20 wed night LAB solo

great night of fishing, crazy,scary night of fishing. most current i have floated in, really moving. i could not stay in 1 place kicking against the current, then the rain started dumping and the wind pick up over 10 mph. blowing with the current, then i pop a float. fun fun fun. found a chain on a dock, tied myself off and waited for tide to peak. 17 bass, 2 legal and bass trifecta.

Way to charge after them brother. 17 fish and some good stories to tell. Some people would ell you to be safe, so I will leave it to them.

conditions were less than favorable, i knew it launching and was prepared. i knew what tides and weather was doing, where to fish to lessen danger and had exit plans. about 10pm current and winds picked up and started working together. best to shelter in place and wait out the storm. i knew at 10:30 tides would peak and current would turn in direction i needed. also sp dan told me i needed a air hose onboard in case a pontoon starts losing air, thanks dan needed hose. at anytime i could have just went with current and made a call for ride back to my truck or just removed myself from water.

Kudos to you on braving the elements and the fishing sounded good as a bonus

That's funny (not really) I went out to LAB launched by mother's and ended up popping a hole in my tube too. Lol. Caught a good size spotty and he started thrashing violently when I went to lip him and the hook was through his upper lip nailed my tube poked a hole.

Sounds like you had a spooky session; at times, to say the least.

PS ... I never launch without my inflation hose on board.
I had lent it to a fellow float tuber on Thursday this week.
His right bladder was halfway deflated by the time I was able to get my hose to him and he was able to finish his session.

just got out of water 2.5 hours 7 bass, bass trifecta

in lab i know right where to get kelp bass, sand bass and spotties. 3 different zones in the same area. but its there nursery. all small. i just have to cross channel to hunt legals
