hey, haven’t even bought a float tube yet and not sure where to start. Luckily I live 5-10mns away from puddingstone so I plan on fishing there a lot. Any pointers, suggestions, or meet ups so I can learn more about fishing would be awesome.

Welcome to the forum ANP_angler!

Start with what you have, poles, waders, fins, or whatever. Decide your budget. Then get to it and jump in the water. I will guess you already fish and have poles.

These are some examples and you can spend more or less from here.

Float tube: Cumberland $170 or Bucks Roughneck $600
Fins: Walmart $25 or Force Fins $225
Waders: $100 to $600 or tough it out
Life Jacket: $25 to $170

You can find any of these things used on Ebay, Offer Up and others.

You can use our search feature to hunt down more recommendations.

Here is one example:

Enjoy

Your general area puts you close to the Bass Pro shops out on the 15. So there's that. I'm about a half hour east of you (Riverside/Moreno Valley) and along with a welcome I extend the offer of Salt Tubing to you as well. Fishin' with me comes with a bonus, I pour my own lures, and provide to anyone that comes with! I also have extra gear (not for sale) that I loan at need. So if you want to try tubing, I can provide a cumberland, fins, dive boots and possibly waders. I'm planning on fishing Cabrillo Beach the day after Thanksgiving, my son will probably wuss out so you can take his spot if you'd like.

You could also come down to one or both of our Toy Drive and come check out all the different setups. Nov 21st Lake Perris and Dec 12th Newport Harbor. Bring some toys and maybe win a prize as well as get entered to win the Buck Bags Cutthroat Float Tube.
