Do you use very expensive rigs on your float tube?

Though I've never had any equipment go overboard, I've always felt nervous taking my best rigs on float tubes. Do you use your best stuff while tubing or do you save those for land/boat use?

Curious....Smile

Funny story actually, Had a decent rod on board shimano baitcaster. I had just caught a bass and and placed it on my apron when it was kicking and hopping all over the place. Didn't realize it but it had knocked my rod overboard. Found out cuz my bait was still in its mouth thank god and I was wondering why my line was so tight lol. It enabled me to pull my rod back up though. But now i pay attention to where I put my rod down if I even do it at all. Other than that the biggest thing I worry about is an underwater tree popping my tube and it going down with all my gear in it. Of course my life would take precedence over all of it but i might cry if it were to happen

I lost a rig once and it was completely my fault. But I take it all with me still no guts no glory. And I am still hunting for my glory LOL.

I was using the CastMate rod Rack system and had a nice setup in the back rod holder behind me. I know the connection was lose but did not worry about it. It ended up tipping backwards and dumped my rod and reel in the drink.
The area that I have the most concern is possible dropping my Cellphone. I know I need a water proof case that floats and maybe I need to do that soon. only other things that worry me are my Action Camera and my fins LOL.
What do you guys do to keep your gear safe from taking a swim?
