Hi Guys,

Over the last week I have noticed a few of us talking about tubes, toons, and now kayaks?
And now with the failure of my pontoon situation I find myself reconsidering my strategy.

So here is what I've been thinking...., literally.

Tube?
( Naah, I 'm too old to go back. I need to be comfy, dry, no leg cramps. Besides, I need to cover more area quickly. Hmmm, plus I bring so much crap! Yeah but tubes are so simple and stealthy!..relatively cheap, and it's kinda cool being in the water with the fish.)

Toon?
( Now yer talkin! Dry , cushy comfortable, fast, and lot's o room fer my crap! Put a motor and a new meter on it and I'm in! Besides it's a way better fishing platform than a tube...... Hmmm, but they're heavy and gettin em down to the water can be a real pain!,,,I gotta carry all that crap! oh and forget about hiking with it on my head ..Kinda expensive too..)

Kayak?
( Whoa, big jump now , comfy, really fast, especially with a motor! and probably enough room for the crap, yeah and I can go outside the breakwall! the really big water! bigger fish. Yeah,... but they suck as a fishing platform, like fishing out of a Lazy Boy,.. yeah a Lazy Boy with a six foot bow in front of you. and jeeez are they expensve! oh yeah and the whole launching thing again.)

Tube ?
( yeah ,... simple , light , portable, less crap,... more organic...)

Toon ?
( organic?! did I just say that ?! Toons is the tool man, I wonder how well it would do on the Big water? hmmmm... )

Kayak?
( man they are so cool lookin! and fast!, and they are the tool fer outside the breakwall....yeah and I can launch it at casitas and castaic!!)

Tube?
( Ya know... maybe I need a tube...)

Toon?
(...AND a toon....)

( Aaaww jeeez,...!)

Kayak?
( one of these would be cool too!)

( OK stopit!!! the wife would kill me and no jury would convict her! Ok, OK, so here's the plan. a new toon now, a new tube next year , which is only three months away! and the kayak maybe never.... or,.. ) Twisted Evil

Go for the triffecta bodfish, but do the kayak and the pontoon, the wife will just be upset with maybe some stick eye[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]. And you can still do the tube, like you said less expensive and also easy to store so that no one can find it. [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

I would get either a tube and a scooter / motor of some type or a yak. Toons are nice, but at that cost I would just get a nice little inflatable boat. Plus most toons are so big you would need to tow one and if you can tow a toon you might as well tow a boat.

If I had room to store one this is what I would get..

Yeah those are great and amazingly fast and durable. Not the most comfortable ride. I used to dive and spearfish off of ribs all the time and although they are a a bit pricey you don't have a ton of maintenance like a standard boat so overall cost of ownership is a lot cheaper.

Dang that thing is cool. no place to store it, though and I bet it's expensive. oh well I think I'll stick to my present plan and hope to see you guys soon.
