You got it headcase, also there's sharks everywhere typically there more scared of us. I dove the long beach break wall saterday night and saw 2 horn sharks about 5-8' away, very cool looking!

That would be pretty awsome and i did a little more reading on it they are lepard sharks the say there harmless but i sure would like to pick a fight with one ha ha ha my biggest lepard is only 2 feet

check out big hammer web to da left hand side they got really good deals and 3in 4in swim-baits and jig heads for da harbor

Ya Tubinferbass Konacrush is right Big Hammer is the right way to go, but most of your freshwater bass stuff will work just as well.

Is their a date set? I fished at least 1 day every weekend for the last 2 months and girlfriend is a little annoyed, but taking her to vegas for a few days so I should be able to fish.

I spoke with jeff and he came up with a great idea, for the gathering on Nov. 6 format will go as following:
Saltwater Poker
 
Place your bets in the morning before you go fishing.  Bets will be one unopened pack of fishing lures ($5 to $6 value).  Once your bet is placed you are cleared to fish in the harbor and will need to be back to show your hand but 1pm.  If you are late you will not be allow to show your poker hand.
 
Best poker hand gets 60% of the pot from the morning, 2nd place gets 30% of the remaining pot and 3rd place will get what is left.
 
This is played just like a game of poker (5 card draw), here is your deck of cards.
 
Mud Marlin – ​ Ace
Halibut – ​​King
Crocker - ​​Queen
Calico - ​​Jack
Sand Bass - ​​10
Spotted - ​​9
Perch -​8
Mackerel - ​​7
Lizard fish - ​6
 
 
 
Royal Flush -​Mud Marlin, Halibut, Crocker, Calico, Sand Bass
Flush -​Any 5 species in consecutive order
Full House - ​3 of one species and 2 of another
4 pair - ​Any 4 of one species
3 pairs -​Any 3 of one species
2 pairs - ​Any 2 of one species
 
 
In the event of a tie I it will go to high card in there hand, example: if you have a royal flush and caught a Perch as well, but someone else has a royal flush but has caught an extra halibut they hold the high card and will win.

Mud marlin are rays. You never know you might win with lazard fish!

Not sure about the whole poker deal. I mean I could essentially catch 3 mud marlin at 6 lbs each and loose to 4 1 lb mackerel???
