Our original plan was to hit up Alamitos Bay but last night we called an audible after remembering the LB Marathon was going on today. We met up at Seabridge Park at 6am and launched off of the north side of it. Conditions were pretty ideal, glassy water, warm’ish water (I trunked it) and a ripping incoming tide.
BMF got on the board first, then second, then third, lol. I then finally got on the board with a 12” Spottie, and about 10 minutes later, a dink Sandie. That was all the Fish Overlords had in mind for me. BMF landed two more for a total of 5 on the morning. We worked the docks and slips and made our way out to the flats, crossing over towards PCH side about 50 yards shy of the Simple Green building. The tide was strong in the center of the channel, but as soon as we stayed right to the docks, the eddy kept us nearly idle. A tiny tuft of wind kind of kicked up around the 9 o’clock hour, but nothing too bad. I felt like I was just going through the motions after not getting bit for the last 1.5 hours or so. I got both of mine on 1/4oz HUBs, Sandie came on the Red Crab and my Spottie came on the Chovy. After crossing back over we made our way back to the south side (sandy side) of Seabridge Park and that was that.
Always fun times on the water with BMF. Looking forward to hitting it again soon.
