A huge thank you to [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] and [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] for the invite to go fishing for the first time at Barrett. Aside from the stiff wind picking up and nearly killing me while trying to kick back to the car, I had a great day with awesome people.
I caught 14 bass with the largest weighing 5.6 lbs. I also caught 7 large slab crappie and 3 huge bluegill.
1 bass fell to a topwater frog, 4 others hit a dropshot 7 inch bold bluegill colored Roboworm. All the other bass (including the biggest of the day), crappie, and bluegill attacked a 2.8 inch Keitech swimbait behind a Megabass Okashira screw head jighead, which is a weird propeller shaped spinner thing situated behind a standard jig head. I made long casts, let it sink to the bottom, and then just slow rolled it just fast enough to bump across the top of any cover.
All in all one of my best days of fishing in a long time.
Here is a link to a video short.
