So, this is my outer shield for the Bixpy. I cut up an old fan housing and zip tied it to the Bixpy.

The inner filter is made from plastic screen glued to the Bixpy  screen.

Had it out in the salt 3 times, didn't clog once. Only draw back is the metal screen bites........GT

Good to hear that it’s working ok . I hate the eel grass clogging up the motor. Thanks for sharing.

Interesting. Is the screen to prevent sea week and gunk from getting in there? I've been using the Bixpy since their Gen 1 and have their Gen 2 currently. Yours is Gen 3. Anyways, in freshwater, not as much problems but good to see what you have done. Bixpy works GREAT for tubes given how light the whole rig is.

FTIQ, Bixpy allows me to circumvent the tides, saving me from having leg cramps due to cold water and the fact that it keeps the prop and prop shaft clean. It's opened a new chapter for me.............GT

Since getting my Bixpy I have effectively doubled my fish catch. I love it! I can and often do stay out after most tubes and yaks vacate windy water. Weeds are definitely less of a problem on lakes, but the eelgrass in Mission Bay is brutal. This looks like a great addition.

Gentlemen those ringing endorsements for the Bixby and for motors on float tubes in general. Love it.
