Gathering at Puddingstone April 6th

OK everyone we are going to make this happen Rain or Shine (I hope Shine) we will meet at Puddingstone in Sail Cove. The plan is to meet up after the gates open (TBA) in the the parking lot. We will set out in to the cove and other parts unknown to see what we can catch. Plan on bring a lunch and we can all meet up for a quick meal before we head of to do our honey do lists that will more then likely be waiting.

I'm in as well Jeff. I live pretty close and fish there fairly often. I'll confirm gate hours this week and let yall know. So far this year they only do inspections at the main boat ramp, and the standard inspection is required... clean and dry or they'll deny you access with tubes, kayak, etc. They also want to see your fins and or motor and PFD at inspection. Non motorized is $9, motorized is $12, and a $12 vehicle entry fee. They'll give you an access and inspection pass to re-enter the other side to launch at sailboat cove.

Thanks this is good info keep us posted. Can I ask is there a cost to the inspection?

No additional fee for inspection. Just the $12/vehicle access fee and $9 (non powered) or $12 (powered) for tube.

Update on Puddingstone. I tube fished for about 4 hours in the afternoon on Thursday 28 March and got some info from the guy at the main boat launch, but no fish hahaha

Starting 1 April the first launch is at 630am. He said the small booth at the Sailboat Cove entry would be open and able to conduct inspections. He seemed kind of hesitant, so I'll head out there next week to confirm.

1 May starts their summer hours and also entry fees on weekdays. Currently and through the month of April you can enter free on weekdays (non holidays).

Expect to pay $12 entry (weekend), and $9 for tube launch. $21 total. They'll inspect your tube (needs to be dry and clean), PFD, and most of the times they ask to see my fins.

Its a small but might group come join us if you can rain or shine we will be there.

It looks like good times are to be had!

OK so we are set for Saturday anyone else that would like to join us you are more than welcome. I will get my stuff packed up tomorrow evening in anticipation of getting on the water. Looking forward to some time on the water with some good friends.

I've been back out to Puddingstone 2 more times in the past week and they still only do inspections at the main launch ramp (North side of lake, not sailboat cove). My plan is to hit the main launch ramp for inspection and entry fee, then drive over to sailboat cove to launch.

Every time I've been to sailboat cove this year I had to enter through the main gate and take the 2nd left turn that leads you back to sailboat cove. The other entrance off Raging Waters access has not once been open.
