please help, first time

So I would like to know what you guys think would be a good place for my first time to los alamitos, not first time tubing, and what would I use as far as baits go. I am looking for more of the calico variety but a good spotty spot would work too, Thank You

dude I would help you out but I dont fish that place. there are few guys here that do fish there and know that spot pretty good. Maybe they will be nice enough and help you out.

You won't find many calico's except for smaller ones at los alamitos aka the LAB. There are some nice spotties, and sandies there, but it takes time on the water to find them.

Baits: keep it simple, 1/4oz big hammer, or other brand darter head, with a 3" big hammer swimbait, most all colors will catch fish, although the spottie special works well most times. Fish the spots that look like they hold fish. There's No sure thing out there, just put in your time.

Watch out for the paddle boarders, and the rowing types, they think they Own the water.

And yes, I've fished there a few times...

What hammer said I think a few of us are going to Huntington harbor Sunday its more of a kick than the lab but if you want I can bring a sea scooter and tow you or let you use it to get around and I say go with someone on your first time out

no calicos inside alamitos. but if thats your target, Palos verdes is the place but I wouldnt tube it.

on a side note, i know a good cove spot in PV that looks good for tubing, just gonna wait til the weather gets better and the bite gets better,..
