FTFF Workshop Discussion

any updates on this FTFF workshop?

OK guys sorry for the delay, I have been busy with work and other issues. We are still going to run this, and try to keep it small for the out siders. (we are planning on opening this up to non members.)
The Plan now is to run this the morning of the 22nd of September. I will be contacting though that had donations and wanted to help. If you would like to offer your services let us know here in this thread.
I ask all please remember we are going to keep this first one kind of on the small side, so please don't start inviting people with out signing them up.
There will be another thread started soon, to relay more detailed information. All I will say at this point is we are still in the planning stage. We are going to do this and see how it all works out for the forum, and then talk about other workshops in the future.

OK guys I am working on bring in some students from the outside for us to teach to in September. We will keep it small and I will give you more info as we get this going.

I'm in! as I said before I will bring my toon and will try and procure a second from a colleague of mine. Just let me know what you need brother, I am totally down for stuff like this. At my age it is time to share what I can to try and preserve and pass on what we have.

is the date for the workshop still set for sept 22 ??

OK guys so ya this is going to now be the 29th next weekend. And it is going to be a Huntington Harbor at Castle Beach. This were the last gathering/series date was to be held but got changed.
I will work on the map and try to have it up by this evening. The idea here is to get people out to try new gear, so if you are going to come out please be ready to share. This is really a none fishing event to start, as there are going to be a few people there that have never tubed before and want to try out some tube and learn how to tube right. This is the main focus for those people. The other idea here is to share your knowledge and ideas will members. But lets remember that even some of our members have not tried the Cumberland, ODC-420, or Fish Cat and would like give it a test ride before buying one for themselves. So again if you are going to try and come down from this first time event, keep and open mind be ready to share and feel free to through in your 2 cents.
Oh and as for fishing I will be in the water with rod in hand by 10am for a short fishing sessions so be ready for that also.

I will be bring 3 different tubes and all the fins I have. we could use a few different tube or Pontoon's some fins, I will bring the 3 sets of waders I have, if you guys could bring any extras you have that would be great. I figure we could just talk a little about the tube that we have out there Pro's and Cons stuff and then talk about safety and answer question as well as let the few new guys get in the water and try a few tubes out for themselves. This is our first one so not sure how well it will go but lets just go for it and see what happens.

Well there was not that many people that showed but it was fun none the less. Ed5000x, bodfish, bassfishing24/7, and Robert, and uknowho were there in the morning.
Uknowho was out for his first time in a tube, I think we got him hooked today. He tried out 3 different tubes and more than likely on his way home he stopped to buy a tube we hope.
At about 10 am we were out to fish the harbor, it was a slow day for me I have one toad of a spottie. I would post a picture of it later it is on my phone right now. I did get some pictures once I get my camera out of my gear I will post them up.
I would like to thank bodfish and ed5000x for coming out and talking about there gear. And I hope that Robert and unkowho had a good time and learned a few things.
So this was very small but I think that it could be something we could do again and I know I would like to try again soon.

Also I would like to give one more thanks to waxon67, and ed5000x for even coming up with the idea in the first place I am sure the next one will be 5x bigger.
