Hi Guys, just a quick hello. I hail from South Australia, there aren't too many float tubers here in SA and information regarding them is a bit hard to find. I hope to pick up a few modification tips and recommendations for a tube. Being a big bloke I am searching for the right tube at the moment and looking at getting it shipped from the states to Australia, leaning towards a Ponderay as it has the bigger payload (so to speak).

That is so cool, so glad you found us we can all help you out with the mods. I second Lok Dog we all would love to see some pictures from down under.
Might be a personal question but being a big block how much are we talking so we could better help get you set in the right tube. Again welcome and we all look forward to hearing more from you.

Welcome!

I'd recommend to Cumberland. I'm about 250lbs (116Kg) and it works well for me, and all my gear.

I'm about 160kg or border line 350lb I probably should be looking for a second hand battleship. Would rather use a tube float rather than a pontoon boat. The ponderay has the heaviest load capacity that i have found so far.Attached an image from my last foray into Victoria at Lake Bolac, this was only part of my catch over 2 days largest was about 3.5kg, but I got a hit that broke me off straight away so I reckon it was bigger still.image [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

Yep those are trout very nice I think your idea of getting ponderay is a good one. I might no some one you can buy from not sure if you have any prices as of yet but I will check for you. Also if you decide to think about Pontoons let me know there is the Waterskeeter guy on here that is selling his maybe you could talk to him.
