Here are the details:

October 18th @ NPH Coast Guard Station
1911 Bayside Dr., Newport Beach CA

Launch Time: 6am sharp
Weigh in (digital photos) 12:00 noon
Custom Rod Competition Entrance Fee: $10

Simple Rules:

For the Custom Rod competition it is pretty simple, Heaviest fish with a clear photo showing the weight of the fish and a special sticker that you put on the scale will need to show up on the photo to win the rod. Make sure you get a clear picture. I will pass out the sticker that needs to show up in the photos the day of. No minimum size of fish required, so snap a pic of your catch!

All three species of BASS count (Spotties, Sandies, Calicos) and HALIBUT also. So bring your "A" game!

I plan on getting there at 5:30am as I know other will too. There are several parking spaces at the coast guard station, first come first serve. There is also plenty of parking on the street. Look for me and pay your $10 entrace fee and be ready to launch by 6am!

Dont forget your camera and scale! That would be like fishing with no bait. If you don't have a scale, fish with someone that does.

NO live bait, plastics ONLY. Bring it!

I'll post up photos of the Custom Phenix Bass Rod someone is gonna score by tomorrow.

Dam I just have to say I am very proud of the OC Fish Slayers, and Tony G, and Pavo21 amd everyone involved for getting this underway and setting it up. Very nice work I could not have done better myself. Remember guys when we are there this is all for fun. Have a great time meet some new guys and fish with some old friends, but above all have a safe and kick ass fun time. I am so looking forward to this see you guys there.

Fools, really appreciate the tide explanation/education.
I was out last weekend and got caught up in the incoming tide heading back to launch site. I will now plan my outings accordingly!

when i first started i dint even have a tide chart and would just go out to my same spots (pretty wide and deep) and deal with what ever the ocean gave me that day.

Now that i understand the chart and am familliar with much more of the bay i can make better choices where to launch. I still can only fish weekends and still go almost every weekend no mater what the tide/ weather conditions are (unles the wind is crazy cuz F that ), but i have noticed now that i have a better game plan when i head out my days are consistly better then when i first started out.

He can fish with us, but to get into the prizes he needs to sign up and post

Anyone can enter the rod competition, I've got some friends from facebook, where I posted the link to this page coming and they are not part of FTFF. So invite and spread the word.  This is a great way to make the forum grow.
