Me and the SKUNK are becoming good friends when it comes to trout in pay-lakes. That being said, it was a beautiful day for tubing. The lake was almost mine, only tuber and shoreline was wide open. That should have told me something. Water temp 64 degrees, light winds, visibility about 6-8 ft.
Their is an old dock with pilings and such next to the current rental dock where a large fish kept rolling over, never leaving the water. I mean this was a large fish. I tried everything I had, hard baits, plastics, and crawlers. All trout gear.
Ended the day about noon, and spoke to some shoreline fishers who had caught one trout. So it was a slow day, but it didn't make me feel any better.
So I'm leaving the west shore and across the way at the rental docks I see a stocking truck back up to the shore and started dumping fish. I believe they have a tournament this weekend for aks and tubers, but I was surprised at the small load of fish.
Good luck to those that attend the tournament..........GT
