I am taking my new float tube out to New Port Harbor in a week or 2. I was hoping you all can give me a list of basic must have baits for working the harbors down here in SoCal. Any additional tips are welcome Smile
Thanks fellas.

Hey Drop shot, let me know when you go, might join you and yeah, if you search for Newport Harbor or NPH, you have tons of posts from peeps that have fished it....

I have had luck with Gulp products and now the zoom product....just feel confident when you throw something and youll be olay...plenty of launch places...lots of peeps launch from the Coast Guard Station, from Balboa island....holla when you go..ill be out there tomorrow....530pm

Nice.Tahnks for all the info. i have some 3" hammers are jig heads already. Can you all tell me what are your most productive colors in the baits you all suggested? i will be ordering stuff online and doing some driving to tackle shops this coming weekend.

just get a good variety of colors and try and match water clarity and sky clarity.  Dark murky water good for darker colors.  Clear water, clear baits.  Night time darker and daytime brighter colors etc...  They all work at one time or another. At least it seems to me.
